Information Event in Emilia-Romagna

Organization of a major public event, in collaboration with the University of Bologna, dedicated to territorial cooperation for the Sahrawi people and to the legal aspects of EU–Morocco trade agreements.
The goal is to inform citizens, students, and civil society networks, promoting greater awareness of the situation in the camps and of CISP’s work.

Inclusive Education and Prevention of School Dropout

A direct intervention in the schools of Laayoune, Awserd, Smara, and Boujdour to support the most vulnerable students.
Actions include:

• Provision of basic school materials (backpack, notebooks, hygiene and personal-care items);
• Personalized school support, building on the successful pilot experience of the previous EDUARTE project;
• Teacher training delivered by school inspectors in Arabic and mathematics;
• Strengthening of the monitoring system to detect students at risk at an early stage.

Community Protection and Family Engagement

The project supports parent associations and school–community committees in preventing school dropout through:

• Awareness-raising campaigns on the causes and consequences of dropout;
• Small community surveys;
• Dissemination of messages through local radio;
• Regular meetings between families, teachers, and education authorities.

Extracurricular Activities and Sports as Educational Tools

Training for Sahrawi coaches on managing sports facilities in secondary schools and on developing activities that enhance adolescents’ life skills.
Sports activities are designed as inclusive spaces that also engage adolescents who are no longer in school.
The programme is supported by WorldCoaches and the Sports and Protection Group coordinated by CISP.
