Every day, in Italy and around the world, thousands of people face extremely difficult situations. Natural disasters, conflicts, poverty—these are just some of the challenges that severely test the lives of countless individuals. We stand by their side.
We are a large group of individuals united by a shared passion and commitment to helping those in need. We work to address the needs—and often the tragedies—of the communities we serve through cooperation and humanitarian action. Our goal is always to make a difference.
The world around us seems increasingly complex and unstable. From the contradictions in Colombia’s peace processes to the conflicts in Sudan and the Sahel, to the unending crises in the Middle East and countless other critical regions across the globe, challenges abound. In such a difficult context, it’s understandable that envisioning a future of progress and improvement for those we strive to help can feel daunting.
Yet our experience teaches us that change is possible.
By abandoning rigid and static approaches, we have chosen to embrace a more flexible and dynamic method. We recognize that our operational context is constantly evolving, pushing us to continually adapt to new challenges. We draw inspiration from innovative solutions, inclusive strategies, and collaborative approaches, while also valuing the lessons of the past and the knowledge of other cultures. This enables us to confront uncertainties proactively—both individually and collectively—and to work alongside institutions to identify effective and sustainable solutions.
This year, we have chosen to link our new year wishes to the commitment to solidarity.
We believe that choosing to look at the world with openness and solidarity is the most effective way to build a better future. Solidarity serves as a foundation of hope and action in uncertain times—a bridge built on empathy and mutual understanding that helps us overcome even the most complex challenges together. In a world in constant transformation, the quest for stability has often led us to build rigid systems based on control, certainty, and perhaps an excessive reliance on technology. However, these systems, precisely because of their rigidity, often prove fragile in the face of the unexpected.
