The educational situation in Palestine is extremely critical. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Education and the United Nations, a high number of incidents continue to affect students, teachers, and school infrastructure across the West Bank, leaving a profound impact on children's lives.
CISP has been active in Palestine for over 30 years without interruption. Today, we are joining forces with VIS, Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo, in the campaign "Juzoor: Schools for Freedom" to guarantee Palestinian children their right to education. The next step CISP and VIS plan to take together is the renovation of the second floor of the "Aisha Khalil" school in the village of Al Jway, located 12 km from Hebron. This follows a previous VIS intervention on the first floor, which successfully upgraded the building with new classrooms, offices, storage rooms, restrooms, and internal staircases.
While the school currently accommodates 80 children, renovating the second floor will allow another 80 local boys and girls to attend classes. These children currently have to study inside containers near the school. This is an unacceptable solution that poses extreme risks to the health, safety, and psychological well-being of both students and teachers, violating their dignity and their right to education.
Through this renovation, the school will gain four new classrooms and a science laboratory. We will also organize extracurricular activities, such as theater workshops and health awareness initiatives. Thanks to this work, these children will finally have a safe, dignified, and motivating space to learn.
This initiative is more than just a construction project.
It is about safeguarding children's rights and protecting their health.
It guarantees their continuous education.
It is an investment in the future of an entire community.
