Master in Cooperazione allo Sviluppo

Nel 1997 il CISP ha costituito il Cooperation and Development Network (CDN) di Pavia, in collaborazione con l’Università di Pavia, l'Istituto Universitario Studi Superiori di Pavia IUSS e altre due ONG (COOPI  e VIS). Nel quadro  di questa collaborazione, sostenuta anche dalla Direzione Generale per la Cooperazione e lo Sviluppo, Ministero degli Affari Esteri,  è stato creato  il Master Universitario Internazionale in Cooperazione e Sviluppo di Pavia.  Un programma post laurea per formare professionisti nel campo della cooperazione internazionale offrendo agli studenti  un formazione accademica e professionale altamente qualificata.

La caratteristica principale di questo programma è infatti quello di coniugare una solida preparazione teorico accademica con una formazione professionale direttamente sul campo nei paesi dove il CISP e le altre due ONG lavorano.

Sempre nel quadro della partecipazione alla Cooperation and Development Network (CDN), sono stati istituiti altre Scuole di specializzazione in Cooperazione allo Sviluppo in altri paesi. A questo network oggi appartengono: la Universidad de San Buenaventura Cartagena (Colombia) con il Master presso La Escuela Latino-Americana de Cooperación y Desarrollo (ELACID) in Cartagena (Colombia ; la Bethlehem University  con Master in International Cooperation and Development  (MICAD) in Palestina; Master in International Cooperation and Development (MICD)  di Kathmandu in Nepal.

Infine, ha avuto ufficialmente inizio anche il polo africano con il Master of Economics Cooperation and Human Development (MECOHD) che il CISP, coordina a Nairobi in partenariato con la Kenyatta University, il Tangaza College, UNDP, l’Istituto Universitario Studi Superiori di Pavia (IUSS).

Master in Cooperation and Development

CISP in  1997 started, in collaboration with the University of Pavia and other two NGOs, the International University Master in Cooperation and Development of Pavia established within the framework of the Cooperation and Development Network (CDN) of Pavia and funded by the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

A higher education training course in the field of international cooperation. The Master has an interdisciplinary approach to the theme of development. Topics dealt with include economic, historical, sociological aspects; as well as project planning and management. It provides a thorough presentation of the international co-operation system and allows students to participate in meetings, workshops, conferences and lectures offered by well-known experts in international co-operation. The objective of the academic program is preparing highly motivated high-profile experts in the field of international co-operation. Filling the gaps in knowledge, skills and capacities necessary to improve the socio-political conditions for development.

The partnership between the university of Pavia and NGOs as well as the inter-institutional and multidisciplinary approach that characterizes the Master Course, provided an innovative and successful model . In fact, the success and the progressive internationalization of the initiative leaded to the establishment of similar initiatives in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia in 2003 with the Escuela Latinoamericana de Cooperaciòn y Desarollo (ELACID - Universidad de San Buenaventura Cartagena) and in Bethlehem-Occupied Palestinian Territories in 2005 with the Master in Cooperation and Development (MICAD - Bethlehem University). Then in 2013 the Master in Cooperation and Development (MICD) in Kathmandu, Nepal and the Master in Economics, Cooperation and Human Development (MECHOD - Kenyatta University) in Nairobi, Kenya started their first edition.

Today after 17 years of experience the effectiveness of this academic program is proven by its present in 5 countries (Italy, Colombia, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Nepal and Kenya) and 4 continents (Europe, Asia, America, Africa).
